When Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis make a movie, it has to be funny and this movie is really something...
Two married men, two desperate wives, one problem: The marriage is not working as it is supposed to. Of course the best solution to that problem is a one-week vacation from marriage, called a hall pass.
Never the less this week gets pretty crazy for both parties and there are some pretty funny moments involved.
I rate this movie a 9 out of 10, because if you have a sick and twisted sense of humor - like I definitely do - you will have a lot of fun!!

Who is this John Galt?
"Who is John Galt?" is the first sentence of the book "Atlas Shrugged" (1957, by Ayn Rand). But what does it mean and what is this book really all about? After all it got destroyed by some people and glorified by others.
I have read the book and I don't want to spoil the mystery about John Galt, so I won't tell you who he is, but I will tell you what the expression "Who is John Galt?" stands for. In the book the people use this phrase when they reach a point in a discussion or in their life, where they have no answer. Little do they know, that there is an answer, but they have to learn it the hard way, by destroying the world. And when the world is burning, they know who this ominous John Galt was.
That is also the plot of the novel. The world falls apart. Bit by bit. Ayn Rand does a marvelous job on describing the people in the book as well putting her philosophy - Objectivism - into act.
A lot of people loved this book and so did I. It kinda changed my life and I rate it a 100/100 out of a hundred, because if you read it carefully and take your time, think about the topics that are discussed it will also change your life.
This April there was a movie released, called Atlas Shrugged Part 1. I haven't seen it yet, but when I have, I'll write a review about it.

Osama bin Laden is dead?!
Have you heard the (good) news already?! Osama bin Laden is apparently dead! Obama announced that a couple of weeks ago and now I'm going to tell you what I think about it.
On May 2nd the terrorist leader - Osama - was shot by a navy seal. Good shot, I'd say. But why again was he the bad guy? Oh right he was the "mastermind" behind 9/11! Well, that was now almost 10 year ago! Why did it take that long to find him? It kind of seems the same situation when I lost my keys and I'm looking for them all over the house, but then it's in the place where I expected them the least.
Now he is dead. Or is he? Why hasn't the U.S. Government not released some more pictures? A video? Why do they act like they are scared? I don't like Mr. Obama a lot and I don't like the way he is handling the situation. If I were president - which I will never be - I would show the world that we killed the man, who hurt American people, so that everybody else knows that this is what happens to the people that mess with the United States. Also I wouldn't have given him a muslim funeral. I would have burned his body and spread the ashes in the wind.
Since non of this was done public, we cannot know for sure that Osama is really dead... So should I come up with a conspiracy? Osama bin Laden is still alive and he is the head of the FBI, he faked all of this just to give the American People some satisfaction and in 20 years or so he will "rise from the dead" and take over the world... Doesn't sound plausible? Well, I cannot know for sure that Norway exists or wether we live in the Matrix... Or can I know that? ;-)

How to turn your computer in a sandbox
I have to warn everybody though. If you buy this game you will spend a lot of time with it! The more advanced you get the crazier get the buildings you build... You will feel like a little God walking around in your own world, who doesn't want that?
I rate this game a 100/100. It's the most amazing, fun, interesting, productive game I ever played and I'm sure you will love it just as much!

Capitalism has failed?
In this post I am going to talk about several different political systems - yeah I know it's a more serious topic... So let me not talk around it and get right to it!
A lot of people think, that Capitalism is bad and only gives more money to the rich, while taking it from the poor, but is that accusation justified?
What is Capitalism? As you can see on the picture many people think, that the rich exploit the poor at the point of a gun, but is far from being true! The essence of Capitalism is freedom, and when people are free, there are certain laws that apply in a free society. For instances the law of exchange (an exchange never takes place, unless all the involved parties agree - voluntarily), the result of that is, that every exchange is a Win-Win-Situation. The employer benefits from the employe and the other way around also.
Major accusation: In a capitalist market there is one company that is going to buy everybody else and is going to establish a monopoly. This is pretty funny, because every monopoly that was ever build, got there because of the government, who established laws in order to keep it in a special position. A free market destroys every monopoly, because there is always competition.
All in all capitalism is a system, where people make their own rules. Only force is not permitted and that means, in order to get something you have to trade value for value. If we had capitalism on earth, we wouldn't pay taxes, there would be enough jobs for everybody and it would be a lot easier to earn money... It just makes everybody's life better!

NEVER BACK DOWN
Movies, where there is an underdog, who trains during the whole movie and in the end defeats the arch enemy... <3
Never Back Down is exactly one of those movies! I really love them, because they show what is possible to achieve. Also it motivates you to train yourself and every time I watch that movie I start doing push-ups and sit-ups like a madman (of course this enthusiasm stops after a day or so - otherwise I would be ripped!)
The story is fairly simple: Underdog beats "Overdog". Oh did I already mention that? Well, the plot is simple and predictable, but it's not the story that makes it a good movie. It's the action scenes and the whole atmosphere. When you watch it you feel like you actually learn some moves and techniques - which turns out not to be true... at least not in a street fight.
I recommend this movie to everybody! Not little children, but everybody over 10. This will give you the power and strength to beat your personal arch enemy... Nah, I'm just kidding, it won't but it's really good and for that reason I rate it a 95/100!

This post is not about "the social network". Well, yes it kinda is, but not the movie! I want to talk about the real platform. Some of you - I'm guessing the real Geeks - have already heard of that new phenomenon, that is conquering the web and which is collecting our data.
I love facebook! How could you not? It's one of the best ways to waste time, learn things about your friends, you never wanted to know and its also the easiest way to stalk all the hot girls, who otherwise never would look at you!
It's like a huge achieve of your life and sometimes, you look at a status from a year ago and think: "Man... I wish I was still this dumb." Instead of writing a diary today, the 14 year old girls post a status describing their pains and troubles to the world - only difference is that everybody reads it. Instead of having a book, where you let your friends write in you have your facebook wall and instead of a fotoalbum you have... Well you still have fotoalbums, but most of the pictures are blurry and show premature teenagers with pushup-bras.
It's hard to grasp the cultural impact of "the social network", but it's save to say that it makes things easier, yet more difficult. For example, it's easy to check the relationship-status of the girls you like, however it's rather hard to make them not notice, that you date all 4 of them at the same time (why didn't Facebook add relationships with multiple people?!).
Seriously though, all the advantages Facebook can back fire on you. What if you have a job-interview and your new boss checks your Facebook first to see what you are like? Will he find the pictures of you, being drunk and worst?
So now my personal opinion - partly joking, partly serious. It's great to be finally able to make ones life public, find friends you thought you had lost, loose friends you thought you had, meet new people, who only added you, because they think your profile picture is hot and last but not last be able to "like" somebody's activity (sometimes, when somebody says something great in real life, I'm like "WHERE IS THE FREAKING LIKE-BUTTON, WHEN YOU NEED IT?!").
Facebook changes lives, and you better make sure it changes your life for the better!

Tangled
First of all: It's a fairytale, how could you not love that?
Second: This movie has a lot of jokes in it and I don't mean only jokes like "something falls down on my head - I make a funny face - the children laugh" NO! There are jokes, that the kids don't understand and that makes it enjoyable for children as well as adults.
Third: Random songs at random times. I know it's not really realistic that a girl starts singing to herself when she brushes her hair and spend a whole day alone in a tower, or when a mother talks to her daughter... But these songs... I just love em!
Freaky German Doctors?
If you like pointless horror movies, "Human Centipede" is a must-watch! The point is that not many people like pointless movies. You want to have at least some kind of moral, or happy end after a movie, but this one offers nothing. No happy end, no wisdom, no pleasure, just gore movie effects and a messed up story.
I'm going to walk you a little through it, so I might "spoil" one or two things. Two american girls, one roadtrip in Germany, a broken car. Thats basically the start. The two girls try to find help and come to the house of Doctor Heiter, who is this german specialist on siamese twins. The Doctor decides to create a human centipede by connecting three people, anus to mouth - yeah, like I said, messed up stuff! After a few little fights he finally arrives at his goal and has his human centipede (he even starts crying because he is so happy!). But then the police shows up, the doctor dies, two thirds of the centipede die and the poor policemen die too! Only the middle peace is still alive and that's the story.
I live in Germany and I have to say, that this movie is a pretty accurate description of our everyday life! We just love to work in a team and help each other out. However I am not surprised that Hollywood made the German guy, the bad guy - I mean, can't we get a second chance?! I'm just kidding.
I rate this movie a 3/10, because it is bad... Not in a good way, still it has its moment, like this one:

The answer is simple: We kill the Batman.
So I know this movie is not the newest, but it is one of my favorites, so I want to express my feelings about it. Batman: the Dark Knight came out somewhen in 2008 and pretty much rocked. A lot of people said that it was really awesome and complimented it a lot, but why is that?
Well, I can only speak for myself, but I loved "the Dark Knight" mainly, because of the villain - the Joker (played by Heath Ledger). He does the best job I have ever seen from anybody and he really is scary! Unfortunately he died before the movie came out, but still got an Oscar for his performance - which I personally appreciate a lot.
Christopher Nolan is an awesome director and I'm looking forward to see "Batman: the Dark Knight rises" from him, which is coming out in the near future.
I rate this movie 100/100, for obvious reasons. Just go watch it!

Welcome
Due to my boredom, I decided to start a Blog. It seems like the perfect opportunity to produce at least something, while wasting time. I love to waste time, that is the reason, why a watch a lot of movies - and when I say a lot, I mean a lot!
So this website will contain mainly reviews of movies, but also my opinion about other stuff like major political events or moral issues. I hope you enjoy yourself and I hope, that I will have fun too.
